FlawedtoPerfection is a collection of thoughts, writings and musings of an average Jo. It’s created to be a space that celebrates authenticity, individuality and truth.
My experiences as a young, African female growing up in a blemished society ridden with racism, shadism (like racism, but based on the complexion rather than ethnicity), sexism and other ‘isms’, warped and perverted my perspective of myself. It’s been a long journey of self-discovery. A crucial lesson learnt, is that, as much as you may think it’s just you, it’s not. There are, will be, and have been too many travelling this all too familiar road.
The good news is that at the genesis of all our lives, is the Creator.
This Creator is an artist. He designed the waterfalls, sunsets, the northern lights, flowers and landscapes that we all marvel at.
‘You’re not 1 in a million, you’re one in 108 Billion.’
All these things being beautiful, perfect, purposeful and worthwhile, how much more us? His most prized creation.
Us that he has numbered every hair on our heads (yes, including the ones that have fallen out).
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. -Luke 12:7 NKJV
Every quirk, mole, scar, mark or ‘malfunction‘ of your body are nothing but plot-twists in your intentional and intricately composed existence.
You’re not 1 in a million, you’re one in 108 Billion.
You, me, us; we were meant to be, nothing about us is a mistake, we are flawedtoPerfection.
